Kano Governor Assigns Portfolios to New Commissioners
Kano State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf has today sworn in 17 Commissioners cleared by the state house of assembly.
Although two of the Commissioners nominees are yet to be screened by the Assembly as they are presently undergoing Hajj exercise.
Recall the Governor had last week submitted 19 name list to the State Assembly for screening.
The Commissioners with their portfolios are:
1) Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, Local Government
2) Haruna Umar Doguwa, Education
3) Ali Haruna Makoda Water Resources
4) Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf Health
5) Engr. Marwan Ahmad Works and Housing
6) Barr. Haruna Dederi Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General
7) Dr. Yusuf Kofar Mata, Higher Education
8) Nasiru Sule Garo Environment
9) Engr. Muhammad Diggol, Transportation.
10) Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud, Agriculture
11) Musa Sulaiman Shanono Budget and Planning
12) Abbas Sani Abbas, Commerce
13) Aisha Lawan Saji Ministry of Women, Children and Disabled (To be sworn after she return from Hajj)
14) Ladidi Ibrahim Abba, Tourism and Culture
15) Sheikh Tijjani Auwal Religious Affairs (To be sworn after he return from Hajj)
16) Baba Halilu Dantiye, Information
17) Tajo Usman Ungogo Science and Technology,
18) Hamza Safiyanu Rural and Community Development
19) Adamu Aliyu Kibiya Land and Physical Planning.
The Governor in his remarks after the swearing in exercise, charged the new Commissioners to do all they can in moving Kano Forward.
