ASKOJ Condemn Detention of Waraka Online TV Presenter
The Association of Kano Online Journalists has Condemned the arrest and detention of Kano based journalist Abdul’Aziz Aliyu by the Kano Police.
According to the Statement signed by its Chairman Yakubu Salisu, Aliyu was contacted by one police Officer asking him to come to their Area Command office located along Court Rod as investigation of a stolen phone has linked him with the suspect therefore requesting his presence.
The statement added that, upon arrival, Abdul’Aziz was confronted with an entirely different matter.
” The Police deceived me, it wasn’t about stolen phone it was about an article that allegedly offended some individuals”, Aliyu narrated.
