FIRS Trains Joint Tax Board Members in Tax Processes & Digitization
Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) trained members of the Joint Tax Board JTB and other stakeholders on how to be efficient and effective in paying their dues.
The training which held in Kano last Saturday, was also aimed at enhancing participants in understanding taxation and related matters, and also to enable them obtain a fair knowledge of the tax processes and reforms in Nigeria.
Addressing members of the press shortly after the training workshop, the team lead who doubled as Assistant Director at the FIRS Chimenka Ezirebe said, the training was organized to increased the level of compliance of JTB members and other Nigerians.
“It is expected at the end of the training, participants would equip themselves on how to fulfill their tax obligations in Nigeria and it is also expected that the participants would have knowledge on how to administer tax to the three tiers of Government we have in Nigeria” He said.
One Participant from Zamfara State Salisu A Salisu, appreciate the effort of the FIRS and commend them for Organizing such an Important Workshop which he described as ‘timely’.
“Seriously I learned a lot, this program taught me how to solve conflicts which usually happens between States and Federal Government on revenue related matters” Said Salisu from Zamfara State.
The Participants were drawn from different States and angle of life as part of FIRS efforts to increase level of Understanding of taxation in a modern world.
