The Fate Of Drug Market In Kano.
A madman was walking in his moderately clean shirt when he saw a very dirty dress on a pile of waste. He took off his clean shirt and wore the dirty one.
In other words, the drug business owners in Kano city have complaints about the federal government’s plan to transfer drug suppliers and drug businesses to Dangwauro Market.
The main complaints marketers are: the lack of provision of busines space for low-powered marketers, exorbitant price of shops and distance of the market.
Anyone who wants to bring about reform in this matter, should form a group of small traders, in order to correct the mistakes that were made in Dan Gwauro, not to build a new one.
I saw a building plan, established by the state government on New Road Sabon Gari, that it is trying to build a new medicine market at the old New Road Motor Park, this move is a set back because the place not spacious and it is surrounded by schools; it is not spacious for extention.
Another important issue is the price of the shops, which I heard is thirty five million Naira each.
And in this old Motor Park, the Camp of the Kano Pillars Football Club will be built.
This include their dormitories and the mini training ground as shown on the plan. In fact, the place is very tight.
Looking at these reasons, we are calling on the state government to look into the situation in order to improve the Dan Gwauro market and provide affordable shops for small traders, so that in the near future, schools will not have to be demolished for the extension of the medicine market.
In the end, this old Motor Park was closed for security reasons and to reduce congestion in the city. The tribe expelled from the market thought that the medicine business is theirs, claiming that the Hausas only interfered.
What do you think will happen if the business is returned to them?
