Chairman House Committee on Sports Applauds Super Eagles For Victory Against Libya

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their hard-fought victory against Libya players in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier held in Uyo on Friday, 11th October, 2024.

The Super Eagles, after their debut with Libyan football players, secured a crucial 1-0 win, claiming all three points and maintaining their top position in the group standings.

In his post-match reaction, Honourable Amadu praised the team’s resilience and dedication, stating that “The Super Eagles displayed remarkable perseverance and hard work, overcoming a determined Libyan sid.”

Hon. Kabiru, who lauded the team for rising to the occasion and securing the vital win, also expressed optimism that the victory keeps Nigeria’s hopes high for qualification to the AFCON tournament in Morocco.

The chairman also commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for assembling a capable technical team to guide the Super Eagles, while the search for a permanent head coach is ongoing.

He noted that “The NFF has done commendable work in selecting a strong technical crew to steer the team during this interim period.”

Looking ahead to the return leg in Benghazi next week, the Sports Committee Chairman urged the players to maintain their momentum and secure another victory on Libyan soil, adding, “I charge the boys to go to Libya with the same fighting spirit and bring back all three points.”
