Emir of Kano Commissions Ultra-Modern Jumu’ah Mosque Built by Ganduje Foundation in Bachirawa


The Emir of Kano, Alh Aminu Ado Bayero, has commissioned a state-of-the-art Jumu’ah Mosque, alongside an Islamiyya School and a dedicated women’s prayer section, in Bachirawa, Ungoggo Local Government Area of Kano State.

The mosque complex was fully funded by the Ganduje Foundation, under the leadership of its founder and chairman, former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, who is also known as Khadimul Islam.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Emir commended the foundation for its sustained commitment to Islamic development and community service, describing the project as a significant contribution to religious and educational advancement in the area.

In a statement issued by Ganduje Media aide Aminu Dahiru Ahmad, Sheikh Lawal Abubakar, popularly known as Triumph, has been appointed as the Chief Imam of the mosque and will oversee the administration of the Islamiyya School attached to the Mosque.

For over three decades, the Ganduje Foundation has been involved in various community development initiatives, particularly in promoting Islamic causes. Its activities include the construction of mosques and schools, organizing and sponsoring Qur’anic recitation competitions, supporting Islamic outreach programmes, and providing other humanitarian services.

The event attracted several dignitaries, including Senator Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila; Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo; Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa; Senator Kabiru Gaya; Hon. Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai; Engr. Umar Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; and Comrade Muhammad Garba, among other prominent figures.

Also in attendance were respected Islamic scholars such as Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, Sheikh Abubakar Kandahar, Sheikh Abba Adam Koki, Sheikh Nazifi Bichi, and Sheikh Alibaba Fagge.

The commissioning marks another milestone in ongoing efforts to enhance religious infrastructure and educational facilities in Kano State.
