Governor Yusuf Approves New Appointments, Promotions in Kano


Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a new round of appointments and promotions aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across key sectors of the state.

The development was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

According to the statement, Hon. Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi (Alhajiji) has been appointed as Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Executive Governor. He was previously serving as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol I.

Hajia Aisha Tamburawa has also been appointed as Special Adviser to the Governor on Positive Propaganda. Before her new role, she served as a Supervisory Councillor in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.

In the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA), Engr. Mukhtar Yusuf has been promoted to Managing Director, having previously served as Deputy Managing Director, while Zakari Usman Balan has been appointed as the new Deputy Managing Director of the agency.

Governor Yusuf also approved the appointment of Dr. Mukhtar Bello Maisudan as Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board. Dr. Maisudan is a senior lecturer at Bayero University, Kano.

Similarly, Engr. Abba Kankarofi has been promoted to Managing Director of the Kano Road and Maintenance Agency (KARMA) from his former position as Deputy Managing Director.

In another appointment, Hon. Musayyib Kawu Ungoggo has been named Managing Director of the Kano Zoological Garden. Prior to this, Ungoggo served in various political roles, including as a councillor and Senior Special Reporter.

Governor Yusuf urged the newly appointed and promoted officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating dedication, transparency, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Kano State.

He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to strengthening state institutions and delivering people-oriented governance in line with the objectives of the Kano First Agenda.
