Kano Government Launches Motor Rally from Kano to Argungu for International Fishing Festival

The Kano State Government has flagged off a motor rally from Kano to Kebbi State as part of activities marking the ongoing Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival in Argungu, Kebbi State.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, stated that the Kano State Government remains committed to promoting and supporting initiatives that preserve culture and foster development.

The Commissioner disclosed that the organizers had earlier informed the state government of their movement from Abuja to Kano, upon which the government provided support, including accommodation and feeding arrangements.

Earlier, during a brief ceremony held at the kano race course grounds in Kano, the leader of the motor rally team, Ibrahim Sulaiman Kukum, expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for the recognition and hospitality extended to them.

He explained that the aim of organizing the motor rally was to promote vehicles manufactured in Nigeria as well as promoting culture and tradition.

The event was attended by the Commissioner for Information, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, and other top government officials.

The Argungu International Fishing Festival, a renowned cultural event, is being held for the 61st time in Argungu, Kebbi State.
