The Kano State House of Assembly has assured the Executive Governor of Kano State, Eng Abba Kabir Yusuf, of the speedy approval of the appointment of seven commissioners and a Secretary for the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC).
The Governor, in a letter dated February 28, 2024, and read in the House by Mr Speaker, Rt. Hon Jibrin Ismail Falgore requested the honourable House to consider and approve the KANSIEC commissioners and the Secretary.
In a press statement signed by spokesperson Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai to Rt. Hon Speaker House of Assembly, it reads:
The KANSIEC commissioners and the Secretary are as follows:
1. Eng Kabiru Jibrin
2. Dr Salis Muhammad Tudun Kaya
3. Barr. Muktar Dandago
4. Alh. Shehu Na’Allah Kura
5. Alh. Isyaku Ibrahim Kunya
6. Hajiya Amina Inuwa Fagge
7. Garba Ibrahim Tsanyawa
8. Anas Muhammad Mustapha as Secretary.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the Kano House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Speaker Jibrin Ismail Falgore has already constituted the committees assigned for the speedy screening of the names before the House.
