NGX Chairman Hails FirstHoldco’s Legacy as Firm Breaks Ground for New Head Office

The Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Kwairanga, has described FirstHoldco Plc as a leading light in the Nigerian economy,” praising its resilience and leadership as the firm broke ground for its new head office at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking at the ceremony on Wednesday, 5 March 2025, Kwairanga highlighted FirstHoldco’s over-a-century-long legacy of innovation, strong governance, and commitment to excellence.

He noted that the company’s expansion reflects its ability to compete effectively in Nigeria and across Africa.

“For more than 100 years, FirstHoldco has set the standard for resilience and innovation in Nigeria’s financial sector. This groundbreaking for a world-class headquarters is yet another example of its leadership.” Kwairanga said.

He congratulated the Chairman of FirstHoldco Plc, Mr Femi Otedola, as well as the board and management, expressing confidence in the project’s significance for the financial sector.

“I look forward to returning for the commissioning of this iconic edifice, which will provide a befitting workspace for thousands of professionals.” He added.

The new headquarters at Eko Atlantic is expected to reinforce FirstHoldco’s position as a major player in Africa’s financial landscape, showcasing its commitment to excellence in corporate infrastructure.
