Northern Youth Assembly Condemn Banditry Allegation against Senator Buba Umar

Northern Youth (Majalisar Matasan Arewa) has condemned the allegation going round the media linking Senator Shehu Buba Umar Banditry in the North.

The group in a statement issued to Journalists  by the Acting Chairman Comrade Muhammed Hussain and Secretary Comrade Ismail Alhassan Musa, accused Bauchi State Governor Bala Muhammed of using such way to tarnish the image of the Senator.

Senator Buba Umar representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, was accused by the DSS of sponsoring one notorious Bandit to Hajj Pilgrimage, allegation denied by the Special Assistant to the senator.

The statement read in part ” The attention of the Northern Youth Assembly (Majalisar Matasan Arewa) Bauchi Chapter has been drawn to a social media publication deliberately designed to fabricate a false accusation against respected personality of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen Shehu Buba Umar representing Bauchi South Senatorial District.

Let us put it on record that, for sometimes now, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State Bala Abdulkadir has launched a public political war against Sen. Shehu, the only politician in Bauchi State, so far who has turned to a political nightmare to the Governor”.

The group further accused Governor Muhammed of compelling Bauchi Emirate to withdraw the appointment of traditional title the Emirate wanted to confer on Senator Shehu Buba.

“It could recalled that, some weeks ago Sen Shehu Buba Challenged Governor Bala Abdulkadir to give an account of the palliatives received from the Federal Government on behalf of the people of Bauchi State.”

Similarly, the statement added “Governor Bala Muhammed Compelled Bauchi Emirate Council to withdraw the appointment of a traditional title of Mujaddadin Bauchi, which was duly and deligently conferred on Sen. Shehu Buba. However, Sen. Shehu Buba did not bother to confront the Governor, on account of the Senator’s political maturity, sound moral background and decorum bases on Islamic teachings, values and practices”.

The group then called on the security agencies particularly DSS to tread with caution and treat the matter professionally.
” We therefore wish to call on all security authorities especially the DSS to tread with caution, and treat this allegation with the levity it deserves, as the person involved is a highly respected political figure, not only in Bauchi State but equally around the country.

Part of our reservation is, the allegation is coming from someone who has lost moral standing to speak about right or wrong in the society “.
