Ogun Muslim Council Appreciates NAHCON’s Accountability in Hajj Management

Date:

The Ogun State Muslim Council (OMC) has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for demonstrating accountability and transparency in reimbursing pilgrims for services not rendered during the 2024 Hajj.

The refunds were made possible through reimbursements by the Saudi Arabian authorities.

This commendation was part of a communiqué issued at the end of the OMC’s general meeting held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The Council lauded NAHCON’s efforts and urged the Commission to remain Allah-conscious in the discharge of its responsibilities.

It emphasized that maintaining accountability and fairness would further enhance trust and efficiency in the management of Hajj operations.

The meeting also discussed various national and local issues, including local government autonomy, Muslim participation in politics, the plight of out-of-school children, and reforms in taxation.

Ogun Muslim Council reiterated its commitment to advancing the welfare of Muslims and supporting initiatives that promote the development of Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
