One Kano Agenda to Host Two-Day Economic and Political Conference Aimed at Repositioning Kano State
In its continued push toward unity, progress, and sustainable development, the One Kano Agenda has announced plans to host a comprehensive two-day conference that will focus on shaping the economic and political future of Kano State.
In a statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of the group, Abubakar Abdulkadir Dangambo, the movement, reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that Kano’s growth is driven by collective effort rather than personal or sectional interests. According to the group, the future of the state must be “built by all and benefitted by all,” a principle that lies at the core of its advocacy.
The first day of the event will feature a Kano Economic Summit, bringing together key stakeholders including business leaders, policymakers, SMEs, civil society organizations, and development partners who will deliberate on strategies to reposition Kano as a regional economic powerhouse.
Discussions will revolve around revitalizing local industries, strengthening SMEs, attracting new investments, and restoring confidence in Kano’s once-thriving commercial sector.
Participants will also examine developmental models used by states such as Lagos, whose long-term planning has consistently driven economic growth.
The summit aims to craft a practical and achievable roadmap capable of stimulating job creation, entrepreneurship, infrastructure expansion, and broad-based wealth creation for the people of Kano.
Day Two of the conference will transition into a Kano Political Dialogue, where issues relating to leadership quality, civic engagement, political violence, and youth participation will take center stage.
The session seeks to promote issue-based politics and discourage divisive practices, placing emphasis on building a peaceful, politically stable environment. With youth involvement and political re-orientation among its priorities, the dialogue aspires to reshape mindsets and strengthen democratic culture within the state.
The One Kano Agenda describes the conference as a timely and necessary intervention, noting that Kano stands at a critical point in its political and economic journey. The group argues that the state’s challenges require honest dialogue, deliberate planning, and unified action from citizens and leaders alike.
Residents, professionals, community leaders, religious bodies, youth groups, and business owners are being urged to participate actively in the conversations that will define Kano’s next chapter.
