The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, reaffirming the party’s 60/40 leadership-sharing formula in the state.

This was contained in a statement  issued by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano.

The statement stated that the visit, which drew a large number of party leaders and supporters, underscored efforts to strengthen unity within the APC in Kano ahead of future political engagements.

Speaking during the meeting, Prof. Yilwatda said the 60/40 arrangement between new decampees and existing party members was designed to promote inclusiveness, foster unity, and ensure effective participation of all stakeholders in party and governance activities.

He expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout at the gathering, describing it as a clear demonstration of commitment and enthusiasm among APC members in the state. According to him, the strong show of solidarity would help consolidate support for President Bola Tinubu and strengthen the party’s prospects in the forthcoming general elections.

The APC National Chairman commended Alhaji Yusuf Gawuna and Senator Barau Jibrin for setting aside personal ambitions and aligning with the governor’s vision for the party in Kano.

He also praised Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his leadership and contributions to the growth and cohesion of the APC in the state.

In his remarks, Governor Yusuf thanked the APC leadership for the visit and their continued support toward fostering unity and peace in Kano.

He reiterated his commitment to working collaboratively with party members to ensure the state remains united, prosperous, and aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The governor noted that the large turnout at the meeting signaled readiness among APC members in Kano to work together for the progress of the party and the overall development of the state.
