Court Adjourns Hearing in Killing of Civil Defense Officer

A Magistrate Court No. Four, presided over by Magistrate Rakiya Lami Sani, has again adjourned proceedings in the case involving the killing of a Civil Defense Volunteer, Abdurrauf Ali Ahmad Sharifai, due to the ill health of the prosecution’s counsel.

The court adjourned the continuation of hearing in the culpable homicide case against Aminu Isa, Ayuba Idris, Yunusa Sunusi, Umar Sulaiman, and Isuhu Hassan, who are accused of killing the Civil Defense volunteer on January 1, 2026.

Magistrate Rakiya Lami Sani fixed Monday, March 23, 2026, for the court to receive legal advice from the office of the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice on the matter.

It could be recalled that Abdurrauf Ali Ahmad Sharifai was brutally murdered by suspected criminals while carrying out his official duties.

Following intensive investigations, the Police, in collaboration with the Civil Defense Corps, arrested five suspects who were arraigned before the court on January 14, 2026.
