Hours after taking oath of office, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has paid a visit visit to Ƙiru Reformatory Center alongside Kano State Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Abubakar Idris Ahmad, in one of the major steps to fight against drug abuse in the state.
Governor Abba’s visit, according to analysts, highlights his mission to ‘finally’ curb drug menace in Kano, as cases of drug addiction become prevalent.
A statement personally issued to Daily Feeds by the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, ASN Muhammad Sadiq, Governor Abba expressed his readiness to collaborate with NDLEA to make drug abuse in the state, a thing of the past.
He explained that the state government’s commitment is commendable, and the people are happy to have him on board in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and creating a drug-free society.
“We would like to urge the general public to join us in this crusade against drugs and other vices.
“Together, we can make Kano State and Nigeria at large, drug-free,” he stated.
